2022 Highlights

2022 started very positively for us. With the UK patent being granted and the announcement of our partnership with the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, we knew we were on the right track. 

Good news continued throughout the year and below you will find a re-cap of our 2022 highlights! Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2023! 

Technology and Product

We are very proud to have patents issued for our biometric technology both in the USA and the UK, which further validates YEO’s unique technology.

With the new design updates the YEO application is looking great. The updates include a new sign up flow, messages, contact list, group chats, and settings. Our YEO website has also had a revamp and now includes more information about the security and YEO’s unique technology. 

YEO’s famous patented feature – continuous facial recognition (YEO mode) – has also had some major improvements. Not only is the biometric engine a lot slicker and easier to use but we have given the user the ability to decide which messages to use it with and when to turn it off. Offering YEO as an alternative to any other instant messaging service on the market, with an optional security feature that will put Fort Knox to shame. The introduction of tips has also been introduced which runs the user through YEO’s features. 

This year we will be launching our new server which promises to improve the speed, performance and efficiency of the app. If you are not using the App now please download it here.

Recognition

ICO – Information Commissioners Office:

We worked closely with the ICO and feature as a case study for the Children’s Code, a guide for businesses who create products and services that may be accessed by children. As a result of this work, Sarah was included in a research project by Big Motive that looked at designing and creating products and technology for young people. 

The ICO do not give out seals of approval, but we believe this is a great recognition for our secure messaging service and brand.

Mayor’s International Business Programme:

YEO was chosen to join the Mayor’s International Business Programme and was selected to join two trade missions. First to Paris on a cyber security trade mission and then most recently to the East Coast, USA, where Alan Jones had the opportunity to meet and present YEO to some of the largest health care organizations in the world. 

The programme continues to support us and introduce us to partners and potential clients.

Web Summit

We attended Web Summit this year as a Beta startup where we had a booth for one day at the exhibition. We had the opportunity to present and pitch YEO to potential partners, customers and investors, the feedback was incredible. We have several leads and potential partners for the product which we are following up with. We also had good updates with some VCs and investment groups.

Europa Awards

From over 1000 European companies who applied, YEO was a finalist for ‘Hottest Cyber Security Startup in Europe’ at the Europa Awards. 

The Europa Awards celebrate and award Europe’s hottest tech startups, so being long listed was a real honour. Although we did not win, we are very proud that our authentication and security features are being recognised by the industry.

Computing Technology Product Awards

One of the biggest highlights this year was winning the Best Cloud Security Product at the Computing Technology Product Awards 2022. This prestigious award recognizes YEO’s commitment to providing the best cloud security solution on the market.

Computing Technology Product Awards is an annual event that recognises the best of the UK’s technology industry: from the most innovative and compelling products through to the most interesting projects. Uniquely in the Technology Product Awards, there is no judging panel – instead the finalists are judged by industry leaders and the public.

YEO Messaging is very proud of this award as it is a reflection of our dedication and commitment to creating the best cloud security product available.

YEO was included in the Wavestone’s 2022 UK Cyber Security startup radar and was included in the Evening Standard’s 10 products and services that can boost your business. 

Sarah and Alan, were included in the Tech Round UK Tech Leaders Roundup and have provided commentary to other media outlets such as The Sun, EuroNews, Daily Express, etc.

We have a good feeling about 2023 – watch this space!
